Profession

Currently Peyton is an independent contractor, developing business for Clean Light Green Light LED lighting manufacturers.  His goals are to use this technology to lower energy use, energy costs and carbon emissions from the supply chains and operations of businesses, governments and individuals around the world.

His efforts are spread to all corners of the globe.  In the US, state governments, municipalities, school districts and private business are either choosing or being told to reduce both energy use and carbon emissions.  Implementation of LED lighting effectively accomplishes these goals while putting money back in the budget to be used on more profitable projects such as textbooks, infrastructure, health care and even dividends.

Outside the US in Western Europe, the UAE and other parts of the developed world, private and public organizations benefit the same.  It is in the developing world that Peyton sees the social value of this technology.  In Africa, The Caribbean, East Asia and Latin America where there are common brownouts and blackouts and each home must own and operate a generator to be sure to have electricity, any power left on the grid reduces the rate of living without electricity.  LED lighting uses up to 70% LESS energy than traditional lighting, therefore any electricity not used will remain on the grid and any electricity not paid for will allow governments and private enterprise to more wisely invest.  Couple this with new clean energy projects and the developing world will see a brighter day.

PAST PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

While studying Civil Engineering at the University of Arkansas, Peyton began working for Garver Engineers, a civil engineering design firm.  During his time with Garver, he worked on the design of stormwater drainage and highway design projects including several outings as a land surveyor, recording elevations on existing airport runways and the proposed Mexico to Canada interstate.  He also gained experience representing the design firm as construction supervisor on airport runway remodifications.

In New Zealand, Peyton worked as a project manager for Clifton Coney Group, a project management firm based in Australia, on land development projects.  Of the many projects he managed was Gulf Harbour.  Included in this NZ$750 million project was dredging the bottom of a pond and connecting it to the sea in order for ferries to bring passengers from Auckland city to Whangaparoa peninsula, 40km north of Auckland.  New Zealand’s world famous golf course is located on the tip of this peninsula just minutes from Gulf Harbour.   Hotels, restaurants and residential spaces were planned around the pond/Eastern Boad Harbour to accomodate the guests seeking an escape from the city for a day of golfing, shopping, hiking or bird watching.
